PS5 Slim CFI-2116 – EDM-050
Symptoms:
- Beep No light
- Beeps repeatedly, approximately every 2 seconds
- UART: 80810001 – 2045
The strange part is that the behaviour changes if I slightly move the PCB, for example by lifting it just a little from the heatsink and then placing it back into position.
Depending on the attempt, it may:
- Boot normally with perfectly normal video output
- Give a 2-second BLOD
- Boot, reach a white light, then shut down
- Become completely dead, with no beep and no light
The power/boot sequence always appears normal, and while the console is in standby UART does not report any errors.
What I find particularly strange is the 80810001 behaviour. I would normally expect a short BLOD with this type of power-sequence error, but in this case I can get no LED at all and a very rapid repeating beep approximately every 2 seconds.
The fact that slightly moving the PCB can completely change the symptom also seems significant.
Has anyone seen 80810001 / 2045 behave like this, especially with a repeating beep and no light?
Any suggestions on what area or signals I should investigate?
