Looking for some insight on a PS5 Slim (model CFI-2115, motherboard EDM-052, PSU ADP-400JR). (shuts off under load)
Here is the behavior: In the main dashboard/menu or safe mode, the console can sit indefinitely without issues. In light, low-demand PS4 games it also runs for a long time. However, the heavier the load, the faster it crashes. In native PS5 games, it shuts down anywhere between 5 to 20 minutes, sometimes even faster depending on the load.
Crash sequence: Video signal cuts out suddenly (black screen), but the console stays on for another 5-10 seconds with the white power LED on and the fan spinning. After that, it fully shuts down. Right after the crash, the first press on the power button gives 1 beep and does nothing. The second press boots the console back up with 3 beeps and does a storage rebuild.
Measured facts:
12V rail under load: Monitored with a multimeter while playing until the crash happened. Voltage stays rock solid at 12.06-12.08V with zero dips.
Cold board resistances: VDD_CORE/GFX is 2.0-2.1 ohms, VDD_SOC is 4.1 ohms, GDDR6 1.35V rail is 21.5 ohms, MISC is 9.6 ohms. No shorts found.
Syscon UART logs: APU temperature at crash time is between 50C and 75C (ambient sensors 27-35C), so the SoC is not overheating.
Error code chain: Always the exact same pattern. The primary error is B0088108 (Sonics Bus Error), and then exactly 3-4 seconds later comes 808B0000 / 808B00FF (SSD Watchdog Timeout), followed by 80830019 when power cuts.
Has anyone encountered this problem or knows a solution?
