Small updates of the situation.
I’ve checked measures on both HDMI port & HDMI IC pins.
There were some bad values (due tu bad contacts).
I fixed it, mais still no display.
I’ve tested on TV…it detects something on HDMI input (so i think 5v and HPD pins are ok), but nothing is displayed.
Could it imply some other component like a diode, capa or something which could explain this white led, but no display ?

Please don’t be too scared and be indulgent…i’m quite new in console repairing, and board was coming with defective hdmi port with broken pad under it (pin 18, 16, 15 & 13 if i remember)
I also repaired the track near the HDMI IC.
Although it is not pretty, there is no short measured and no contacts between tracks.

I’m wondering about replacing the port by a new one…as this one has a bit suffered.
However, once again, all contacts tested seems to be ok…and reconnecting the missing pads/tracks to it is quite a mission.
Other question, I’ve repaired the I2C between port and IC by reconnecting HDMI port, HDMI IC, and TVS diodes…is there something else on those rails ?
And also, it’s quite difficult to measure hdmi pins once everything is powered, as this side of the motherboard is not accessible anymore in that cas…do you have any method for that ?
My goal would be to measure if I have any signal on TMDS lines.

No offense, but that repair is really, really poorly done.
I have doubts about the center pins. They look shorted together, and I’m also concerned about the last two pins.
Also, why didn’t you run the jumpers from the vias? Instead, you connected them directly to the Panasonic IC.
I’d recommend getting some practice on a scrap board first. The HDMI port is a delicate repair.
Measurements should be taken in diode mode with the board completely disconnected and powered off. You’re measuring the voltage drop.
Honestly, it’s almost a miracle that the console even reaches a white LED. Be careful though, because if you short the Panasonic IC, you’ll have to replace that as well.
This is what I would do:
Remove the HDMI port and all the jumpers.
Remove all the solder from the through holes.
Tin the good pads using low melting point solder.
Pre tin the new HDMI port.
Clean everything thoroughly with IPA.
Recreate the connection points from the vias.
Install the new HDMI port by soldering the side anchors first, then solder each pin individually with a fine tip iron.
Finally, connect the jumpers manually from the vias to the corresponding pins using insulated copper wire.

You’re absolutly right, my repair is very vey ugly…I know.
As you probably guessed, I’m a beginner in this kind of job…also i’ve previously successfully repaired few Nintendo Switch and other devices.
But this is true that is is the first time I’m working on an hdmi repair…and it is more difficult that what i expected.
But I bought this (cheap) broken PS5 on purpose for learning…
I’ve forgotten to told that, during my last test connected on TV, the TV identified the connected device as a PS5…there is something working in that HDMI stuff.
However, I listened what you told and started to apply your advices.
I’ve removed the HDMI port and will replace with a new one.
I’m also trying to remove jumpers and to solder on vias directly.
I say “trying” because I’m tremblingt a lot, and thèse vias are so tiny….
Finally, here is a picture of the PCB once remove the HDMI port.
For once, this not my fault…it is the state before i owned the ps5. Pads are missing, some other are floating (tried to fix it with UV solder mask)…
That is why i made jumpers.
By the way, can you confirm that pin 14 is NC (so useless ?)
This would avoid me some additional work by not reconnected this pin.

I’m still Here and still working on that PS5.
I tried to follow your advices but repairing all those pads on HDMI is quite a hard job. And I have to admit I was not expecting this when I bought this console.
However, I try to do my best, but the work is not as clean as I would like to.
Here are the latest news, which are pretty good I think.
I managed to have a a display on TV. But is not stable with full of artefacts (picture below).
I’m suspecting bad connections on TMDS pins. Do you agree ?
What is strange is that TMDS pins are the only ones I did not repair, they are good and still the original ones.

Small update.
I found a bad contact on the replaced HDMI port (pin 9).
Now I have exactly same measure (continuity,diode and ohm) as found on this forum ![]()
I don’t have
any flickering anymore, console is starting properly and dialog between PS5 & TV seems ok.
However, I still have bad sound and vidéo signal (lot of horizontal vs lines as in my previous pictures).
I’ve checked all contacts on data lines, seems ok…should I continue to analyse in this way? Or is there another possible cause for this problem?
