Switch only docks after cold boot and minimum of 5 min off

Hello, i have the strangest error…

I have a v1 unpatched switch running atmosphere in emunand.
(So when i boot without sd-card im running stock rom.)

When i turn my switch on after being off for a while i can put it in the dock and it works great, even after 10h of gameplay.

As soon as the switch goes in standby or when i lift up the switch from the dock it refuses to show an image on screen. (No signal) yellow light on dock is on

I have to turn my switch completely off, wait 5-10 minutes and then it will dock again. Its almost like something has to cool down or drain completely before it works again.

Its not the dock or the cables because my wife’s switch works perfectly time after time.

Any help would be very much appreciated! <3

Are you able to manually put the switch into sleep mode and wake it back up?
Tapping the power button or hold the home button to get into sleep mode

after tapping the sleep button while docked, it goes to sleep mode and wakes up, but doesnt display on the tv. i have to turn it completely off, wait 5-10 minutes and then it will dock again :slight_smile:

A strange issue, I guess the first thing you should do is check the filters around the p13usb ic on the back of the board, also examine the port for issues, then you’ll need to check the actual p13usb ic

I agree, very strange.
I have checked the filters, also crossed and they are ok
Also the cap under the pl3usb is not short circuited.

I have a new pl3usb chip so i could replace it to see if that is the issue.
I am waiting for a new Shell/digitizer so i’ll will replace the chip when i have to remove to board anyway (expected within 5 days).

I will keep you posted.

Today i accidentally switched channels on the tv, and when i switched back… No signal… So its definitely between the handshake “signals” of the tv and the switch.

So i tried the same with my wife’s switch (v2) and i can take it out as much as i like, or switch channels, doesn’t matter it will display every single time.

Hello,
I have a problem with that.
My Switch often doesnt turn on after being in standby.
Doenst matter if a cable or dock is connected or not.
Need to press the power button for long and can restart it then.
You have a clue what the problem could be?
Maybe I didnt connect something properly?

Regarding the actual problem in this post. I would also change PI3USB first and see if this fixes it.

Replacing pl3usb fixed my issue,

I am sorry but i have no clue regarding your issue with your switch.

I hope you find your problem and get it fixed too.
