15V charge, no power, missing 1.3V

Hi!

Got a used switch, battery is new, voltage is growing up when charge.

Charging 15V at 0.450A.

Absolutely no power, screen stays black, no signs of life.

I haven’t found any short , only weird thing is I have no 1.3V.

Can I try to inject voltage to see if I found something hot or is it risky for the CPU?

Any help appreciated!

If you 1.3v rail has more than 100 ohm( should have more than 10k ohm normally) , voltage injection would not help.

plug into PC and check if board is stuck on RCM mode

1.3V is OL.

Something strange is that switch only power on with usb charger plugged in. No power on with only the battery.

Will try asap RCM mode.

Faulty Power IC (M92T36) PI3USB or Battery. M92 controls the charging If you are getting 15V 0.48A then its most likely the Battery or PI3USB as the M92T36 is communicating with the charger.

If you are able to power up and run the switch whilst the charger is plugged in then I would try the battery first. Unplug the battery and test the voltage with multi meter if its below 3.2V then battery is knackered or PI3USB is faulty,
