DS Lite touch screen shield replacement

My old DS Lite’s bottom screen is really scratched up, and I though just replacing the digitizer would solve the problem. After taking it apart to replace the digitizer, I found that the screen shield was the only damaged part. Now I have no idea how to go about replacing the shield as I don’t know where to find replacements.

To my knowledge, you can’t buy just the shield. You would be best off replacing the digitizer

I do have a replacement digitizer. Should I just look into getting a regular screen protector to go with it then?

If you want to, it wouldn’t hurt to use one.
