DualSense randomly stops charging after botched repair. Any ideas plz?

Hey all, brief summary:

  • controller only charges for ~30 seconds and suddenly stops. Reconnecting the wire gets another 30 secs.
  • If connected to the console, controller will charge for ~30 seconds, stop and show “?” in the battery symbol on the console.
  • Reports around 2 bars of battery but when connected to PS5 but reading seems inaccurate
  • if the battery dies while playing, the controller won’t connect back to the console for a little while

More info, I was repairing drift, ended up disconnecting the wires from the battery pack. oops. I pried open the battery and soldered them back, pics here (it’s bad):

It worked at first, but now I’m having the issues listed above.

Everything else works completely fine, But the battery is a huge issue. I was just wondering if anyone knew what was wrong and if there was a possible fix?

Reddit said replace, I know I can, it’s bad, I probably will get a battery from China but I just want to know if it can be repaired and what exactly I did wrong. Any info massively appreciated. Thanks!
