Hi there, maybe this has been answered but I could not find it. Is it at all possible to strip down a dvd drive to virtual bare components, such as just the optical eye or carriage, and swap broken parts for new? That obviously would be possible, but the question is, would the drive still have to be flashed? Or another way of asking is, what is the maximum parts you can change without having to flash? I am just presuming the mechanical parts and no pcb’s. Thanking all in advance…
