EDM-044 Thermistor Question

I have a board where the fan seems to be running at max speed after a few minutes of warm up. Completely inconsistent with the actual temp of the board. I bought this board off a guy who tried to replace the liquid metal himself. Besides spilling LM on about 9 different spots on the board, he also seems to have managed to break off a component. Based on the symptoms this system has, I assume it is because this missing piece is a thermistor / thermal Sensor. This is on the backside of the board right below the EDM-044 label.

Can somebody tell me if my hunch is correct? Additionally, please let me know what the specs of it are and where I can find a replacement. Thanks!

Since nobody has replied yet, I let AI try to tell me. It said:

The Exact Replacement Specs

To restore this board to factory functionality, you need to solder on a standard surface-mount NTC thermistor with the following exact parameters:

  • Footprint / Size: 0402 SMD (1005 Metric)

  • Resistance at 25°C: 10k Ohms (10 kΩ)

  • Tolerance: ±1%

  • B-Constant (Beta value): 3380K to 3435K (e.g., standard Murata NCU15XH103F6SRC equivalent)

So I ordered some of those. Let’s see if it works.

should be a 10uF_3.3v_0402 CAP on the 1.8v rail
