Tried to modchip my v1 switch last night, modchip being picofly. Followed the installation guide listed at switch hacks guide and for more detailed seeing the action was watching Modsmith’s v2 mod on youtube at the same time. Got safe access to the SoC die and cleaned the surrounding capacitors, tested that the console still turned on fine, unplugged battery to continue onto solder. I’m not an expert and I was skimping out without a microscope, and now im paying the price for it, I understand. I have done some small scale soldering before, but it was my first time using flux. I was careful with the soldering and didnt bridge, but I cant be sure if it was properly connected to the SP1&SP2. Following modsmith’s example I then tried to plug in the battery and turn on the switch to see if it is still alive and there was a tiny short puff of smoke somewhere around the SP1 area. I quickly unplugged the battery and desoldered the chip to test if the Switch was still booting, nope just a black screen. I afterwards realized that I forgot to clean up the flux before booting the Switch so I assume that could’ve shorted one or more of the capacitors. Would appreciate any help from people more experienced on whether it’s dead or if I can troubleshoot to see if it’s still salvageable. If you need any more details feel free to ask.
