I recently got a PS4 Slim from a friend with a ‘minor fan issue’. Trying to identify the problem I quickly found out that there has been a coffee spill on the surface of the desk that held the PS4. The liquid did not really damage the board and I got it cleaned quickly, however the fan connector was another story… PS4 works, boot and everything but, without a fan…
Eventually I got that cleaned as well, fan appears to work, yet the connector has some damage. Signal pin is fine, ground pin is fine but the 12V had no connection.
I was thinking of routing a small wire from the PSU directly to the 12V pin of the fan, would that work, or are there any other suggestions?
