Generic controller gioteck vx4 for ps4 with a chip missing?

hi i am new, 2 months ago i bought this controller that was sponsored as a cheap and great generic controller for ps4, xboxone and pc, with programmable rear buttons etc…i bought it brand new in the physical shop, after a few usages the right analogue started to drift…so i decided to disassemble it to see…on the top part there was some liquid damage, so i flipped to see the other side and all the pins of the analogue were oxidized and i see that a chip was missing…i clean everything with isopropyl alcohol and now the controller seems to work fine on ps4…but my question is…what was the missing chip for? is it important to have all the chips on a motherboard or can works even with some missing?
