HAD-CPU-01 Switch with no backlight - Rest OK

Hi there, very long time i did not come to the forum, i was really busy working on other things than console repair.

I need help in troubleshooting what is the problem with a Switch V2 HAD-CPU-01 board (i guess it’s a V2 ? I am rusty after that much time without touching anything).

The console did not have any water damage or so, doesn’t look like someone already attempted anything on it.

The symptoms are simple, no backlight. I can see the LCD working with a torch, the touchscreen is also responsive, if i put the console in a dock, all working good on the TV, but no backlight.

I noticed after removing the battery connector and putting it back that when i power on the console, the backlight works for a brief instant (a second or a bit less) and then nothing.

Where would you start looking ?

No-one have an idea ?? Or just a confirmation that the values looks good or bad ? I would also like to change the chip, but i don’t find any with that marking on Aliexpress.

The chip is a TPS61163A.

Thanks, i found few other threads mentioning this but i wasn’t sure, since the marking is always different and i couldn’t find another thread with that board and this chip fried. I will order one and see how it goes, thanks.

TPS61163A been confirmed working as alternative for this backlight chip. The marking is different from original since they are different model

Hoo, i see now, thanks for the feedback, will report if it fixed the issue once i receive the ICs
