I have bought a switch hdmi module on Ali express (cannot post links to show) that are supposed to work both ways of the usb port.
It appears to work on one side only with the mother board I try to fix.
For all the other console I have here it works on both side. On an official dock, ironically, this is the bad side that is plugged, so no image. I have also tried with the official dock and an other non officiel hdmi module from ali express, same results.
I have, apart from that, an issue with the LCD connector or maybe the IC that smoked at a moment I don’t why, I have to checked on this later.
What I have done so far:
- I have checked all the continuity from the port to the filter and also the corresponding pads on the p13usb and everything is OK.
- I have controlled all the diod mode readings of the usb pins and P13usb. They seem fine according to what we can find on the internet.
- I had a torn pad (B2) on the usbc footprint, I soldered a jumper wire. I have checked the continuity with the filter, this is ok.
- I have changed the port 2 times, still the same
I have specifically focused my investigation on the pins of the port that transport the HDMI signal with an original dock, eg B1 => B8 and A9 => A12, but honestly I can’t find any fault.
What else? Could it be the p13usb anyway? I am quite out of idea…
