Got this bad boy on Facebook market place for 50 dollars and have a working PS5 now so this one is just my “let’s have fun and try my best”. A tech has gone and done uart and replaced hdmi port and ethernet I think I am going. Checked the 5 volt rail and they seem fine. I am just not sure where the other rails are could someone point me to em?
How would I got about fixing this?
I ended up replacing the missing caps around the encoder and putting the mask on the board and putting encoder on the board it is slightly lifted but I decided to try turning on the ps5 and got Beep blue light and then 1 blink and off I am going to use UART and we will seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! LETS GOOOOOOO
I Just went ahead and bought a new chip the pin floats supper bad so I wicked it again and again to make it sit better and will try to re-do the UV.
I am at white light statis now. I need to reattach some caps and HDMI port is giving really werid readings like pin 19 giving 1.65V.
If anyone knows why please let me know!!
Noticed that my only pin that was getting dragged down was pin 16 it was at .477v and it needed to be around .700 v I went to back and measured everything till I found a .477v and it was a zener diode I lifted it and I got .667 and test pin 16 and it gave .667 so the zener was bad. SO ANY ONE READING THIS IF ALL PINS ARE FINE BUT 1 FOLLOW THE TRACE. I am not having issues with artifacting and sound glitching but shouldn’t be the biggest issue! (Hopefully)
TLDR: Repairs done:
Encoder swap
Cap replacement/ new caps
Zener diodes
SPECIAL THANKS TO jkyoho and Calvin this had a similar issue as my last ps5 but I was really busy this time last year so I gave up but the info from my last post really helped so thank you guys!!
