Hello, I have an old HP 5515 Photosmart printer and I have a broken tooth on this carriage
(Sorry, can’t post pictures)
Any thoughts where I can find a replacement or a way to fix it?
The carriage tooth is a common weak spot on older HP Photosmart models. Unfortunately, HP no longer supplies those parts directly, but you still have a couple of options:
-
Check online marketplaces like eBay or AliExpress — sometimes you can find used or salvaged carriage assemblies for the 5515 at a reasonable price.
-
If you’re handy, some people reinforce a broken tooth with a tiny dab of epoxy or even a 3D-printed replacement, but it’s a bit of a workaround and doesn’t always last long.
-
A repair shop can sometimes replace the whole carriage unit with one pulled from another non-working Photosmart.
If you’re around Dubai, F2 Technology can do a free walk-in diagnosis and let you know if the carriage can be replaced or repaired on the spot. Sometimes it’s cheaper to swap in a working part than to try patching the broken one. check them out
