Anyone know where this spring is located. I assume it’s a part of the disc drive because that’s where I found it. Could it be the cause of my disc drive not working?

that spring could be the one that pulls the rollers or the scissors mechanism… let me find a picture or video to show you…

at 4:21 there is a spring that pulls the scissors to keep them close…
and then at 5:12 there is a spring under the barrel between the rollers…
