No Sound on speaker or headphone, but Sound when it is docked

Hi,

Got a new Switch v1 from ebay, but the sound is KO when on speaker or headphone, but it is OK when it is docked on a TV (loud and clear, no buzzing).

When I test it on speaker or headphone, I seen the icon changing when I plug and unplug… so it’s not from there.. (And I do hear a little’ “crack” noise when I half plug the headphone..

I tried to start it without the module card/headphone plug, in order to si if the problem was from it.. but same result.

So I guess my problem should be around the ALC5639.

But before digging moe into that, I wanted a help from your knowledge :

  • Is the sound process differently when it is docked or not ?
  • If YES : if I have some sound on docked&TV.. it would mean the problem is not form the ALC5639, but more some path around concerning the speaker and the headphone ?

Analog speaker/headphone outputs are generated by the sound chip ALC5639.
Digital outputs for the docking station are direct from SoC.

If there is no sound on speaker and headphone, I would check the ALC5639.

Well… so I replaced the ALC5639 chip with one that I know works, and I’m still having the same problem… still no sound from the speakers or headphones…
I hear a small “crack” in the headphones when I plug them in… but that’s all…

I checked the capacitors and resistors around the ALC5639 chip… but none of them appear to be shorted.

Do you have any other ideas about what might be causing this?

(Is there a way to tell if the ALC5639 chip is getting power? And which circuit is powering it?)

I did some checks - Electronic card detached from everything and No power.
I have some major concern about the value for :

  • Pin 24 CPVPP (value = 345 instead of 450)
  • Pin 21 - CPN1 (value = 882 instead of 1575)
  • Pin 18 - CPN2 (value = 740 instead of 1570)

and maybe for the 2 other values :

  • Pin 26 - HPO_R (1345 instead of 1420)
  • Pin 28 - HPO_L (1345 instead of 1280)

Any advice or Ideas on the causes ? or what to check else ?

(I checked the M92 from USB C (with QIANLI iBridge A3).. no shortcut and value are OK)
