Noob here, how hard is it to replace PI3USB?

Hi everyone, thank you for your time.

My switch stopped outputting to TV just now. When I google, everything point to the PI3USB IC chip.

I saw a few youtube videos and they all used flux and heat gun to remove and then put the new chip on. I am afraid there are more than that and would like to see has anyone try it and how hard is it? Any pointer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Well it´s really that easy how it looks in the videos.
However you should have SMD soldering experience.
Before you order a chip you should really make sure that the chip is the problem.
Also the filters between the USB Port and the Chip tend to go bad…
