I’m trying to repair a Nintendo switch that previously had water damage & one that had a modding attempt on it, but failed epically. The modded attempt one had 3v3 missing, so I replaced the max chip that supplies it & re added the 3v3 caps that seemed to have been removed after (I’m assuming they took them off with the kit) & thankfully restored the 3v3v. However I only get 0.46 amps & a black screen. I get the same result with the water damaged one as well. I’ve thoroughly looked over each board, replaced m92, p13, bq chips & usb ports on both, but have had no success with either. When I connect them to tegra on my PC it says they’re both in RCM mode, which has left me to believe they are EMMC related? I’m not really sure if reballing the nands is the way to go, or simply reflowing them. Any help would be very appreciated. If there’s any pics you would like to see of either board, don’t hesitate to ask. Thanks!
any kamikaze dat0 grinding attempt?
Nope just had a dat0 ribbon cable. I removed it hoping it would solve it, but unfortunately it didn’t make a difference.
you mean emmc dat0 adapter and ribbon cable soldered on?
Yeah the dat0 adapter, but I don’t think it was flowed directly to the dat0 point under the NAND, it was just soldered onto the ground points to hold it in place. The reading seemed okay (775 ohms) but I just removed it to troubleshoot.
if the adapter didn’t seat properly, the written data from modchip might overwrite emmc in wrong section leading stuck on RCM mode. You might need to try rebuild the emmc via hekate or programmer and see if that fixes it
