i had bought a used oled (for parts off ebay) and changed m92 p13 and usb c port. there were still shorts present and found the realtek chip needed replacing. the 4 caps right next to the p13 still showed a short but everything else was good and now everything works fine but it just doesnt dock. i tried injecting voltage at that point but didnt see anything light up. any thoughts on where i could look next?
Maybe you have a bad filter. Did you check all four filters?
pi-3-usb would be the correct name given from the manufacturer Pericom.
There are only two caps for the AUX signal and seven caps for the power supply at the pi3usb chip. Which caps are shorted?
On the picture you provided the smaller ones to the left of the chip. I did however notice that after re assembly, the battery will just drain fully overnight. Going from a full charge to dead with the screen off. I don’t recall finding any shorts in areas outside of those smaller caps.
