So I purchased a V1 wirh a known issue ( the fan was spinning loud and constantly continuously), this apparently appeared after the seller said he took it to a repair service and they replaced the fan.
You can’t really tell, but there is fucking transparent glue on the connector. I tried to be gentle but the connector came off and one of the pads with it. (The last one)
I have a donor bord for a connector with a dead CPU. Can I jump a wire or something? Chatgpt told me that the pad is responsible of controlling the fan speed. (But can I trust Chatgpt?)
The 4th pad broke, the last one.
I really need to fix the fan speed, it is unbearable.
I have done my best. I SUCK at soldering, yet I want to learn how to do it. I bought a couple of broken switches to practice. With my current toolset, it’ll be impossible to put the port back.
What I did was: I opened up the fan and where that ribbon cable goes there are 4 pins. I soldered a 0.1mm wire to each one of them and labeled them with tape. Then I went ahead and spend like 6h to try and connect the pins to the connector pads. (Again, missing pad 4)

This is my best result, I know this isn’t pretty. I am very very much a newbie. I connected pin 1 to pad 1, 2 to the ground point of that cap. (Used a multimeter to test which end of that cap is ground, could be wrong, I’m a noob)
3, to the 3rd pad and 4 to the bottom of the cap on the left of the 4th pad.

Sadly, the fan isn’t spinning. I need to know why and how to test why it is happening. I’m really sad. I ran a game for like 2 mins without the heatsink in place for testing
