I bought a used Switch pro controller and ran into an incredibly weird situation. It was dead, and I left it plugged in to charge for a few hours. When I picked it up to try it out I realized that the right side/handle of the controller was burning hot, to the point it was painful to hold.
I thought it might be a defective battery, but I swapped in a new battery from Nintendo and without even turning the controller on, and unplugged from a power source, it slowly builds up heat in the right side. The only way to stop it is to remove the battery.
Has anyone ever heard of this weird behavior?
Sounds like serious short with fire hazard.
If you are not a technician I would recommend to give it it to one.
