Hi guys,
I have recently opened up my PS3 super slim, model: CECH 4002C, to see if I can both clean and repair any and all parts.
One such part in particular, is the optical drive. When inserting any disk into the device, the driver does not respond to the board. I have double checked all ribbon cables to and from it, but nothing seems to be amiss. I have even tried cleaning the lenses (using cotton swabs of course).
Is there anything else I can do before needing to replace the driver? I preferably would like to keep all parts original, as this console holds a great sentimental value to me. However, if need be, I will do it.
