PS4 Analog stick replacement hot air

Hello. Ive been “fixing” “broken” ps4 controllers for a little while now. Mostly just by cleaning the tracks on the potentiometers. But Ive had a few where Ive needed to replace the whole stick. Ive been using a hot air station and I tape off all the plastic parts but I seem to have about a 50% success rate. Sometimes its perfect after replacement, other times the controller is worse than when I started. Does anyone have any recommendations on how hot the hot air should be and what airflow I should be using?
