Almost as soon as I load up a game, it says it overheats and turns off, the issue is not the fan because I’ve looked at the fan and tested it, it was spinning the entire time the ps4 was on, I’m thinking maybe thermal paste but I don’t have much knowledge on wat to do with that, I’ve had the ps4 for 5+ years, there had been overheating issues before, but I’ve gone in and fixed it everytime, but this time it seems as if it just does not want to work

Does sound like it is the issue. You wanna clean out the fan and also the fins on the heatsink. Also check that all ram pads are present or in need of replacing while adding new thermal compound.
