PS4 Slim 4-Pin Power Cable Replacement

Started getting “PS4 is too hot” messages so decided to disassemble the mobo to re-paste after 6.5yrs of ownership. The existing paste was very dry and almost non-existent between the heatsink and APU. The 4-pin connector on the mobo was stubborn and my pliers slipped off and broken one of the wires. Sure enough the unit will no longer power on after re-assembly. I ordered a new 4-pin cable from ebay but wanted to ask the forum if that replacemet is as simple as just swapping the old cable for new. I watched the detailed disassembly vid and it looks like I’ll need to take the disc drive out too. Appreciate if anybody has any feedback or has replaced this cable in the past.
