I’m working on a PS5 EDM-010 board and hit a roadblock. Looking for some expert advice on what to check next.
1. Initial Fault & Repair History

The Root Cause: The console originally had liquid metal leakage escaping from the APU area.

Initial Symptoms: On the very first test before repair, pressing the power button gave a brief blue light, then the console immediately shut down. After that single event, the board went completely dead—no beep, no blue light, and absolutely no response.

Diagnosis: Upon inspection, I found multiple shorted capacitors near the 12V area, and the 3.3V standby rail was completely missing.

Action taken: Suspecting the dead Southbridge was pulling down the 3.3V rail due to the liquid metal short, I replaced it with a brand new, pre-balled Southbridge chip.
2. Current Symptom (Current Draw Sequence)
Now, the 3.3V standby rail has recovered, but when plugging in the 12V main power supply, the DC power supply shows the following exact loop:

Suddenly spikes to
2.6Aor3Aauto-triggering. APU area heat up and cool down and desappear. -
Instantly drops back to
24mAand latches there (Over-current protection kicking in).
