PS5 Board Damage Around HDMI

Hi, I have a quick question to determine if this repair is even worth the time. This poor PS5 had the HDMI removed so badly that the board was damaged all around the mounting holes, exposing multiple layers of copper. The console does turn on to a steady white light, which I am taking as a positive sign this may not be fatal.

I can’t seem to embed images or include direct links, sorry, so I hope it’s alright to post it like this: imgur . com/a/F216HdE

(Not my work, for the record!)

I’m not worried about the ripped pads or missing/damaged components, I can fix that stuff easily enough. What I can’t determine with the info I have been able to find is whether those exposed layers are simply part of the ground plane or not. Being that it is so close to the through-holes I’m hoping the area isn’t actually used for anything.

Right now the copper bits I can get my meter on are all reading ground, but I can easily believe they’re shorted due to the damage rather than meant to be that way. I don’t have any board views or schematics to consult, and if anything in this area is indeed supposed to be “functional" rather than just ground, I’d rather save myself the headache and put this one to be scrapped.

I was looking forward to a challenge but there are limits!

From the layer scans of an edm-010, through the layers of the board there are only ground planes around the mounting holes of the HDMI port.

Exactly what I was hoping for, thank you!

though there luckily no trace around the mounting holes, you still might need to reenforce the new port with extra glue or something to give more support avoiding port tilted when HDMI cable insert
