My friend give me ps5 because it wasn’t working. when i check with my mutimeter it says 0ohm on power pins. and no beeps no light. and i guess apu is fine because it doesn’t heat up. the same on fan pins on the pin side of the socket only pin 2 and 3 have a short circuit
I would check if the PSU itself is outputting 12V. If so, I would try localize the issue on the PS5 mainboard.
(If 12V is short, than it is also short at the fan.)
You can check by injecting 1V and see what is getting hot on the 12V rail. Typical candidates are the caps at the mosfets which generate 5V (Under the HDMI chip, and close to the F7102 fuse)
psu is fine it geting 12.54V Fuse are fine i can’t get 1V because I don’t have a laboratory power supply and a thermal camera
It just happened to me today with a edm-030 board for HMDI port replacement and after that the board stopped loading boot sequence. No beep no light, and even no current draw from Bench supply just stayed 7mA without bumping up.
I looked everywhere measured around found nothing missing by accidently knocked off or any short causing SB stopped responding.5v standby, 3.3v and 1.15v for SB all present but just silent(7mA draws). I had checked and confirmed the console was booting up fine just broken port when received it.
So I pull off the CMOS battery and put it back, magically boot sequence comes back.
I am not sure this was occasional or what makes the bios stopped loading from SB, but give a try if you have no clue
i tryed this like maybe 5 times nothing but i hear from PSU click and buzzing when i connect to power outlet. by the way, when I plug it into a power outlet, I see a strong spark in power outlet.
and yeah battery has 3.07V. PSU is fine too and idk APU looks good too there are no liquid metal leaks from the APU. All fuses are good. I guees that could be some condesators but idk.
