Ps5 disc drive stops spinning while copying

while copying spiderman 2 my disc after installing 20gb stops spinning or making any sound and the download freezes i tried rebuilding the data base and cleaning the disc nothing works when i turned on the internet the game continues copying [downloading) so does it requires internet to copy a physical version of a game

Games from disc can be installed without internet connection. I guess your disc drives died while installing the game. And if so, you will not be able to play the game after installation is complete, because the disc must be recognized and red by the PS5.

But the game runs perfectly i played for 47hr completed the whole game and no issues whatsoever but the problem is why i couldn’t copy the game without internet

Idk. Sounds funny. Maybe the disc is defect and only the first layer is accessable…
