Ps5 disk edition edm 030 no power

@Calvin
Yes, 5V marked in the photo above is shorted to ground.
Oddly enough, FK2QB regulator (on the backside of the HDMI encoder chip) is getting 5V, so at least one 5V rail is working.

After checking the board with a thermal camera, the AUX arm cpu seems to be alive and heating up and the board itself is drawing about 10-12W. So something is alive. UART diagnostics doesn’t seem to respond (likely due to missing voltages and southbridge not turning on).

I have a feeling something bad must have gone when someone before me tried to replace the HDMI port (or something close to that area) since there was some work being done there.

Are here 5V?

Yes, 5V is preset over here!

Hi, I’m new here, could you help me with a similar issue?

Mine is an EDM-030 disc, has a few dead insects, the rear ports (excluding LAN) are bad and need replacing, but I’ve already got that covered, I just haven’t done it yet, and when inserting a disc it starts pulling it in and hits a wall, stopping it from fully inserting, but that doesn’t stop it from trying, I checked for foreign objects, and misaligned parts inside the drive.

it won’t turn on or show any signs of life, I haven’t started checking anything with a multi meter yet, because I don’t know where to start or what to look for, I don’t know that I have any diag equipment other than basic volt and amp meter

Any help would be greatly appreciated
