Unfortunately the drive on my PS5 no longer works. Strangely enough, only MP4 CDs work but no games. So I would now like to change the laser to see if that is the problem. Is it possible to use the laser on the ps4? At least the design fits perfectly into that of the PS5
I had the same question yesterday when I got a PS5 only reads DVD but not blue ray or game.
I opened up kes496A laser and kes497A and compared the laser led 40pin board. They are using different control ic but very similar layout.
I end up couldn’t test kes496A on the PS5 disc drive due to customer hidding full story of the console been worked on.
