I found a short on the SSD Power management ic. I removed the chip and 4 caps and the short is still there. I tested caps the back side of the board and none of those was shorted. Thinking it might be the ssd controller chip but didn’t want to do that till the last resort. I not real confident in my soldering skills to attempt that. But will do it if I find out if that’s what’s wrong with it.
What resistance to ground do you measured on that “shorted” area?
It’s short to ground.
put your prob on the 6 phase cpu mosfet coils you will also have “short“ to ground but it is just low impedance. Measure the actual resistance value and post here. Like the link img I provided, a 100 ohm to ground is measured from a working board, it might give your multimeter “beeps” but it is not short.
If you cant even proper measure resistance value or define difference between “short“ and low impendence, you likely have not enough exp to do troubleshoot
