PS5 EDM-033 Short on Rail near APU

Hi everyone,

My EDM-033 is reporting the following errors over UART:

I measure 23 Ω to ground on pin 9 (SDA) of the XDPE14286A and 0 Ω to ground on pin 19 (VDDIO), as shown in picture 2.

I also measure 0 Ω to ground on a rail near the APU (red arrow in picture 1).

I removed the XDPE14286A, the inductor near that APU rail (marked with green squares), and the two capacitors (green arrows), but the rail still measures 0 Ω to ground.

Can anyone tell me where this rail goes and which components it supplies?

I injected 1 V into the rail at around 2.5–2.9 A, and a hot spot appeared on the APU. It seems like the APU itself might be shorted. What do you think?

“I think the APU is faulty, right?

If the APU lights up at a point on the edge, the edge is in most cases damaged/chipped. I guess game over.
