PS5 Fat Digital EDM-030. Console beeps on and gives a 2 second BLOD. I’m getting the following 2 UART codes:
00 04-May-26 17:24:38 80810001 Severe PowerSequence - Power Sequence Error - General Power Failure (Peripheral, GDDR6, APU, Data Line Short) |-(OK 00000000 80810001 FFFFFFFF FFFF00F6 10000000 2186 0000 FFFF FFFF:32)
01 04-May-26 17:24:38 C0160203 Low Known Unknown C0160203 (HDMI->APU) - Check Fuse F7502 (Storage Controller) |-(OK 00000000 C0160203 FFFFFFFF FFFF00F6 10000000 2186 0000 FFFF FFFF:3F)
I’ve checked all around the encoder and SSD controller but nothing is jumping out at me. Standby voltage appears to be present across the board. All fuses are good. No apparent shorts elsewhere on the board. I’m running out of ideas here.
I’m working with an EDM-020 schematic, so I may be mistaken with this one, but I believe the chip in the picture is supposed to have 2v out on standby?? I get 0v here but none of the components on this line are shorted.
Also, to note, when I plug the PSU in, the southbridge, SSD controller, the buck converter just south of the HDMI converter (labeled 3219A near 2 mosfets), and the Dialog PMIC all get warm. Not hot, but just slightly warmer than room temp; enough to show a slight discoloration on my thermal cam. The SSD controller gets slightly warmer than the other spots.
Any help is appreciated!! I’m lost with this one!!
