PS5 Liquid Metal Dry Spots

Hey guys,

TronicsFix recently did a video about dry spots and over heating on some systems. I’m curious to see if there have been any 1215a models that have experienced this, or if all of them so far are only the 1000 and 1100 models? Anyone?

I don’t see any mechanical differences in this spot (surface APU die, liquid metall, surface copper plate). Maybe it is a matter of time and temperatur if there evolve dry spots.

Exactly, it’s only a matter of time, and so far most 1200 model went through my hands still wet

Time… Or Temperature? Supposedly the 1200’s run a little color right? That’s why I am wondering if the newer systems don’t have the problem since they use a smaller chip and draw less power.

I think the combo with liquid metal is the problem. Liquid metal will cause dry spots due to chemical reactions on both surfaces. My guess: a lower temperatur will help to expand the time but will not prevent it at all.
