PS5 Slim (EDM-040) - No Image after HDMI Port and Encoder IC Replacement

I am working on a PS5 Slim (model EDM-040). The customer’s original complaint was image flickering, which would eventually lead to a total blackout after a few minutes. Wiggling the HDMI port temporarily restored the image, but only for a few seconds before it cut out again.

So far, I have replaced both the HDMI port and the HDMI Encoder IC, but I am still getting no image output.

While troubleshooting, I found a resistor near the Encoder IC that measures as a short on the faulty board. When I checked a known working board, the in-circuit measurement for this specific resistor was 0402 22kΩ.

Does anyone know the exact value and specification for this resistor? I want to ensure I use the correct replacement. Thanks in advance!

Nothing special resistor 0603’ 22 Ohm. But a short would be more likely come from a component with connection to ground like the diode below.

same problem.

Replaced the HDMI IC, and no image. If I turn it on: blue light turns white, and then after 3-5 sec. the blue light pulses. If I turn it on in safe mode, the blue light turns solid white, but no image.

HDMI Port It has all the correct diode readings.

All 5 capacitors on the left HDMI chip outputs are missing from the previous lab. I wanted to make sure it worked before putting it back in but I don’t know if that could be the cause.

The caps on the left side at the HDMI chip are inputs.

OMG, I’m crazy! I hadn’t thought of that!!
I’ll get them from the donor and put them back, I’ll update you

@Calvin all 5 caps 0,1uf right?

Yes.The five caps are 0.1 µF.
