I have a OLED board with a BSOD where one of the RAM modules was burning hot. I ordered a replacement RAM module from AliExpress that used the same part number, but I am still getting a BSOD. I just replaced the one module as I assumed the other is fine. Both RAM modules are SAMSUNG, but the SEC number is different and the very last row of numbers is different as well and I am wondering if that matters. I have two switch lite boards, but I am not sure if the RAM modules between the OLED and Lites are compatible. I searched around and all I found is someone stating that if the OLED board has SAMSUNG memory that I had to use SAMSUNG memory, but considering you can upgrade to 8gb using other brands I wouldn’t think that is the case. The ram on the oled is k4uge3s 4aammgcl SAMSUNG memory where the lite boards I have use skhynix. I was thinking of reballing the RAM and SOC, but I didn’t want to go through all of that trouble since the SEC number being different could cause compatibility issues hence the BSOD. Wondering if anyone knows if that causes issues or if anyone has mixed and matched RAM modules around. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
