I have a patched, unmodified Switch v1 that randomly freezes at the Switch logo.
I have to perform a hard reset to restart it, and after 4 or 5 attempts, it boots normally.
Everything works fine: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and games but I have to disable sleep mode because waking it up freezes the console and forces me back to the hard reset…
I’ve tried resetting and installing the latest firmware from recovery mode, but it hasn’t changed anything.
I want to reiterate that when the Switch starts up after several attempts and I disable sleep mode, it works perfectly for several hours until the battery drains.
The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth work perfectly during this time.
What makes you think the problem is related to the Wi-Fi chip?
The battery issue was resolved after several charge and discharge cycles.
The SD card issue is also resolved; after checking, I found a broken pin inside the slot.
So now i am back to the original problem.
The console freezes less frequently on startup in Atmosphere Mode.
When it does it’s always on the second boot, either with an error message, the Switch logo, or a black screen.
When it starts up correctly, everything works perfectly, but waking from sleep mode always causes a freeze.
I don’t know which component is causing the problem…
