Repaired kamikaze attempt, voltage question

I’m working on an OLED board that I learned a life lesson from in failing a kamikaze attempt. That said, it turned into a trace repair project and now I’m just looking for some closure in diagnostics.

I repaired the traces by carefully scraping back more of the line that was obliterated from the first attempt. I also removed the emmc to ensure that these lines have connectivity to the correct pads under the chip (they do). I also checked the area for any grounding issues, but all the layers are cleanly separated and I couldn’t find any.

I reballed the emmc and reinstalled it and I’ve got a no-boot issue with

  • 15V .40A with the battery installed
  • 15V .16A with no battery

I can’t find any shorts anywhere, so I’m suspecting either bad emmc or I killed the apu. I’m looking for help in how to determine either of those or if there’s something else I should be checking. Thank you!

Eh, I think I found my answer. Looks like there is a ground short somewhere by the attempted trace repair. The two resistors right by DAT0 are shorted to ground.

good to hear your trace repair went well
