Repairing consoles for the first time: nintendo ds lite

hello everyone,

I’m trying to repair for the first time some nintendo ds lites. I have this white one from which the upper screen doenst work correctly. Is it correct to say that this problem can be solved by replacing the upper LCD Display Screen or is the problem caused by something else? What do you guys think?

For some reason I can’t share the picture of the upper screen. In fact the screen lights up completely and thus there aren’t spots which are black. One part of that upper screen works perfectly and in the other part of that upper screen there are horizontal lines which are the problem.
