Resistor check if good or bad

Hi, does any know how to test a resistor with a multimeter in continuity mode. For example should the multimeter beep if the resistor is good or bad. Have tried to find the answer online before but no where seems to give a straight answer. Hope someone here with experience in this could help.

well, it will beep depends on your meter resistance treshold for continuity, for example, it you meter range is under 25 kilo ohms, it will beep if you check continuity on resistors with a value under 25k ohms, usually if you are trying to test a resistor you must use Ohms (Resistance) continuity is kind of a useless test for a resistor…

Ok thanks, but how do I know what the correct reading for the resistor is on ohms mode as alot of the smd resistors don’t have the values written on them.

If you don’t have a diagram you can’t… usually you need to compare readings with a working board, or send a picture of specific component so maybe someone can help you…

Ok thanks for your help
