I get my parts in bulk from China but you can get them on eBay and they aren’t that much more expensive. If you watch my Switch videos there are several of them that I show where to test.

Hey there,
another source for chips is Alibaba. Many sellers there only deliver in bulk, but some also deliver single chips or small quantities. Shipping is moderate, but takes time (minimum a couple of weeks).

Would nevertheless be very helpful if you could publish a picture on which pins to measure to find a short circuit. Have watched several of the movies but have a hard time seeing which of the pins you measure.

Best regards

Hey there,
the caps around the chip only have two terminals. On most caps one of them should be connected to gnd, the other one not. If both are connected to gnd in some way you know something is broken. Might be the cap (rare), the chip connected to it, the traces, whatever.
