OLED MODEL POKEMON EDITION
Hello,
I recently bought a Nintendo Switch OLED edition and after purchase, I installed a PicoFly RP2040 mod by myself. I checked everything carefully under a microscope and confirmed there was no shorting. The console booted fine and I was able to load and play games.
The issue started the next morning: both Joy-Cons were not being detected or charging. I cleaned the rails with isopropyl alcohol and also tried a reset, but nothing changed. While on the way to a technician, one Joy-Con strangely charged and started working for a short time, but then stopped again.
The technician I visited opened the non-working Joy-Con and said there was a minor short, which he repaired. After that, both Joy-Cons started charging, but only showed a flicker of charging/discharging like in milliseconds conected charging discharging /charging for a few minutes before stopping again. When I went back, he tested my Joy-Cons on another Switch, and they charged fine. He explained that he only repaired the Joy-Cons and that they are not the issue.
At this point:
Joy-Cons are detected by the console.
They do not charge on my Switch, but do charge on another unit.
Rails are clean (no carbon buildup).
All internal flex cables are intact, with no signs of burn, tear, or damage.
Fan is working normally.
I honestly don’t know if this issue existed before modding or if it started after modding.
I’m stuck and not sure what could be wrong. Could it be a board issue, power delivery component, or something else? Any advice from an experienced technician would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
