Switch OLED goes to 0.4A but drops to 0.1A on boot

Hello
I acquired a Switch OLED with HWFly installed that draws 0.4A on good battery, but drops to 0.1A when powered on - no boot, no logo, nothing.

I have checked the caps around BQ, M92 and P13USB and found no issues. What surprised me is the very low resistance on caps marked as N65048 and N65049 - both have around 5 Ohms. https:// ibb(dot)co/HD9nyDmq I don’t have an OLED Switch to compare, but when testing the caps connected to same pins on V1 switch showed me around 50 Ohms of resistance. Does this look like a dead CPU, or is there something more that I can test around?

5 ohm is kind of low, it should be around 15 ohm on those 2 power rail going into CPU/gpu core

You should double check sp1/sp2 cap solder work and fuel gauge ic MAX17050 if any crack

Hello

The modchip was installed by someone else - according to previous owner it was running for a while.

Here is the SP1 and SP2 photo: https:// ibb(dot)co/99Z7XDTf - IMO it’s not the nicest but it should be workable.

Also did not find any cracks on MAX17050: https:// ibb(dot)co/LhzpbN5X

Because a donor battery comes from my Switch, I’ve decided to charge up the dead Switch battery using IMAX B6 charger. Now the dead Switch battery reports 0.45A at all times, and powering on does nothing to the current draw.

The 5 ohms i measured are actually a bit lower, it’s swinging around 3-4 ohms with 5 ohm reading very occasionally.

Also apologies for the photo quality - I don’t have a microscope and have to work with good old magnification lens so it’s hard to take photos through that

Apologies once more, it seems that my new multimeter is garbage - testing the power lines again with old multimeter has shown 13.4 Ohms, which I guess is good?

I’ve also taken some measurements around MAX77620 chip. Results below:

should be good.

missing 1.3v, check emmc if in RCM mode or dat0 adapter
