I’m trying to fix a friend’s V2. I’m decent with switches but I can’t seem to find information about this specific way it’s failing.
It’s not super consistent on how it happens, but this Switch V2 boots fine except once you triple tap to get to home, it sometimes will just go dark (screen dims), and become unresponsive. Through testing a lot, it’s not actually shutting down, it’s going to sleep, getting suspended. After about 20-30 seconds, you can press power to bring up the triple tap again, and keep doing this for a while, until it might eventually throw a 2107-0423. At which point you have to reboot it. Sometimes it goes through to the home menu fine, and you can flip through the games and/or settings as well, but if you launch something, you get 2107-0423 as well, and sometimes 2016-0247 if a memory card is present on boot.
Battery voltages are fine, readings in Hekate seem fine, but this seems to point to something power related, but I’m not sure what, would it be the BQ chip? Even if it’s charging and reporting fine? I’ve gone through charging and discharging and not seeing issues.
Or the MAX chip, or M92? Doesn’t seem to be quite possible to outright test if they’re not completely faulty? I’m kind of at a loss, anyone have any idea of possible solutions or further troubleshooting?
