i bought a ps4 that i thought would be a simple fix of just putting it a new housing since the original was beat up and cracked and the top part of the heatsink was bent up and mis shapen. i thought it was just an overheating problem caused by the mangled housing. after putting it in the new housing just enough to test it with a known good power supply it turns on for about 6 seconds and then turns off, timed it with my phone. the fan doesn’t attempt to spin even though it’s a working fan. according to a video tronixfix steve posted it may be the apu but i’m hoping it isn’t. what else can i check?
