So I have found by removing a chip next to the fan sorts the fan out and joycon charging. I just flicked it off with a small set of tweezers. No need to replace it.
This is for models only with the diode next to the fan. If it does not have the diode next to the fan then it’s the PU chip that needs replacing.
yes that diode acts like a fuse, next time that unit gets the same problem it will be the PU chip since the diode no longer is present. so in theory if you replace it you protect the PU chip.
Yer just not that easy to replace unless you have fine tweezer soldering iron. PU chip is easier to replace.
Solder paste and hot air.
