Water Damaged Steam Deck Revived Then Died

Hello!

Glad to have joined the forum!

I was offered a broken steam deck to repair then purchase under the contingency of getting it repaired. They weren’t sure what was wrong with it.

When I opened it up I looked over the board and I noticed a small amount of corrosion on the lower part of the board. I cleaned it up with 99% Isopropyl and I was able to get it booted and working just fine. I ran it through a few downloads and games and it was completely functional.

I let it charge overnight and when I woke up it was completely unresponsive. I opened it up again and checked to see if there was anything I missed and troubleshoot what I could. It’s still unresponsive, and I’m waiting to get my hands on a multimeter to probe power and the USB C port to see what’s going on.

In the mean time, are there any suggestions? I’ve looked at getting used boards online, but they are also all water damaged.

Thanks!
